Reinstall the ShiftDispatch staff app on iPhone or Android

Remove an older installation and reinstall the Staff app from the correct address on iPhone, iPad, or Android.

Reinstall the staff app when ShiftDispatch does not open or work as expected,
an update does not appear, notifications are not working, or support asks you
to replace an older installation.

Removing the installed app does not delete your ShiftDispatch account or
schedule. You may need to sign in again and allow notifications again after
reinstalling it.

Before you start

Have these ready:

  • The mobile number connected to your Staff profile.
  • Access to text messages for a new sign-in code, if one is requested.
  • Safari on iPhone or iPad, or Chrome on Android.
  • The official Staff address:
    shiftdispatchhq.com/staff/start.

Reinstall on iPhone or iPad

Remove the old app

  1. Find the ShiftDispatch icon on your Home Screen or in App Library.
  2. Touch and hold the icon.
  3. Tap Remove App.
  4. Tap Delete App. Do not choose only Remove from Home Screen.
  5. Tap Delete to confirm.

Install the Staff app again

  1. Open Safari. Do not open the old ShiftDispatch icon or an in-app
    browser.
  2. Go directly to
    shiftdispatchhq.com/staff/start.
  3. Complete Staff sign-in if ShiftDispatch asks for your mobile number and
    one-time code.
  4. Tap Safari's Share button. Depending on your Safari layout, you may need
    to tap More, then Share.
  5. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  6. Turn on Open as Web App if that option appears.
  7. Confirm the name is ShiftDispatch, then tap Add.
  8. Return to the Home Screen and open the newly installed ShiftDispatch
    icon.
  9. Tap Allow notifications if you want shift, open-shift, and dispatch
    alerts.

Reinstall on Android

Remove the old app

  1. Open your device's Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Tap See all apps if the full app list is not already visible.
  4. Choose ShiftDispatch.
  5. Tap Uninstall.
  6. Confirm Uninstall.

Install the Staff app again

  1. Open Chrome. Do not open the old ShiftDispatch icon or an in-app
    browser.
  2. Go directly to
    shiftdispatchhq.com/staff/start.
  3. Complete Staff sign-in if ShiftDispatch asks for your mobile number and
    one-time code.
  4. Tap Install app on the ShiftDispatch setup screen. If that button is not
available, open Chrome's More menu and choose Install app or
    Install and create shortcut.
  5. Tap Install in Chrome's confirmation prompt.
  6. Open ShiftDispatch from your Home Screen or app list.
  7. Tap Allow notifications if you want shift, open-shift, and dispatch
    alerts.

Check that it worked

The reinstall succeeded when:

  • ShiftDispatch opens in its own app window.
  • You see the Staff Schedule or a Staff setup step.
  • Your shifts appear after you choose your team.
  • Notifications are allowed if you want alerts.

Troubleshooting

  • The app opens the wrong page or experience: Delete the installed app
again. Open Safari or Chrome and type the full Staff address directly instead
of starting from a bookmark or an old message.
  • The app still does not work as expected: Close and reopen it, confirm your
device is connected to the internet, and restart your device. If the problem
continues, contact support and describe what happens when you open the app.
  • A sign-in code does not arrive: Follow What to do when a sign-in code
    does not arrive
    .
