What counts as active staff?
An active staff member is a non-deleted staff profile marked active in the workspace. Inactive staff do not count toward the selected Pro tier.
Do I pay for managers too?
Any person who needs to be scheduled occupies a seat. Team members who only administer the workspace or build schedules do not occupy a seat.
Can I change plans at any time?
Yes. You can upgrade as your team grows and adjust your plan when your staffing needs change.
Is there a contract?
No. Pro plans are month-to-month, and you can manage or cancel your subscription through the billing portal.
Can I start with Builder and upgrade later?
Yes. Builder is available for creating and sharing schedules, and you can start a Pro workspace when staff need live updates, reminders, confirmations, messaging, or open shift coverage.
Can I import my existing schedules?
Yes. Builder can import a ShiftDispatch spreadsheet file or schedule export with people, positions, worksites, shifts, and assignments instead of starting from scratch.
Will my staff need to download an app?
For Pro, we recommend staff use the ShiftDispatch app for quick schedule access, chat, and push notifications, but it isn't strictly necessary. Staff can also use a phone browser.
How do staff sign in?
Staff sign in with the mobile number linked to their staff profile and enter a one-time verification code. They don't need a password.
Does Builder require an account or credit card?
No. You can open Builder without an account or credit card.
What happens if I cancel Pro?
Pro billing becomes inactive when the subscription ends. Your workspace data isn't immediately deleted, and the owner can review billing options to resume Pro.
Is my data secure?
Pro schedule and staff data are stored in an authenticated cloud workspace, and workspace access is limited to authorized users.Learn more in our Security overview, Privacy policy, and Subprocessors list.
