ShiftDispatch is a progressive web app (PWA), so you can install it directly
from your phone's browser without visiting an app store. Once installed, it
opens from your home screen like an app and can notify you about shifts, open
shifts, and dispatch messages.
Before you start
Have these ready:
- The mobile number you use for ShiftDispatch.
- Access to text messages for the one-time sign-in code.
- Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android.
- Permission to receive notifications if you want shift alerts.
Set up ShiftDispatch on iPhone
- Open your ShiftDispatch sign-in link in Safari.
- Enter your mobile number, enter the code sent by text, and choose your team.
- On the install screen, tap Safari's Share button in the bottom toolbar.
- Scroll down and choose Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add in the upper-right corner.
- Open ShiftDispatch from your home screen.
- When asked, tap Allow notifications to receive shift and dispatch
updates.

If you return to Safari after adding the app, tap Got it to continue. The
installed home-screen app is the best place to use ShiftDispatch.
Set up ShiftDispatch on Android
- Open your ShiftDispatch sign-in link in Chrome.
- Enter your mobile number, enter the code sent by text, and choose your team.
- On the install screen, tap Install app.
- Confirm Install in Chrome's native prompt.
- Open ShiftDispatch from your home screen or app list.
- When asked, tap Allow notifications to receive shift and dispatch
updates.

If you skipped setup
You can restart setup at any time:
- Open ShiftDispatch and sign in.
- Tap your avatar to open staff actions.
- Choose Finish mobile setup.
- Follow the install and notification prompts.
Check that setup worked
Setup is complete when:
- The ShiftDispatch icon appears on your home screen or in your app list.
- ShiftDispatch opens in its own app window instead of a normal browser tab.
- Your schedule loads after you choose your team.
- Notifications are allowed if you want shift alerts.
Troubleshooting
- No Add to Home Screen option on iPhone: Confirm that the page is open in
Safari rather than an in-app browser or private browsing window. - No install prompt on Android: Open the page in Chrome, open Chrome's menu,
and look for Install app or Add to Home screen. - No sign-in code: Follow What to do when a sign-in code does not arrive.
- Notifications are blocked or missing: Follow Troubleshoot notifications
that are not arriving. - The wrong team opens: Tap your avatar, switch teams, and choose the team
you need.
