Related shifts help you see who is working at the same site before, during, or
after your shift. You can review the site's schedule and, when a handoff is
available, start a conversation with the assigned coworker.
How related shifts work
- ShiftDispatch looks for other published shifts at the same site on the same
day as the shift you opened. - The preview shows up to three nearby shifts, grouped under Before your
shift, At the same time, or After your shift. - View full site schedule shows every published shift at that site for the
day. Your assignment is marked Your shift, and unassigned work is marked
Open shift. - From My shifts, you can open handoff details when one other coworker is
assigned to a related shift. The handoff shows how the shifts line up and
includes a button to message that coworker.
Review related shifts and contact a coworker
- Open Shifts and select My shifts.
- Tap one of your shifts to open its details.
- Scroll to Related shifts.
- Tap a coworker's related shift to open Shift handoff.
- Review whether their shift is before, after, or overlaps your shift.
- Tap Message first name to open a conversation with that coworker.
- To see the whole day instead, go back and tap View full site schedule.
Check that it worked
The handoff screen shows the coworker's name, shift time, and relationship to
your shift. Tapping Message first name opens your conversation with that
coworker in Chat.
Troubleshooting
- No Related shifts section appears: The shift may not have a site, or no
other published shifts are scheduled at that site that day. - A related shift cannot be tapped: Handoff messaging is unavailable for
open shifts, shifts assigned to you, shifts with multiple assignees, and
related shifts viewed from the Open shifts tab. - Site schedule is temporarily unavailable: Tap Try again.
- The conversation does not open: The assignment may have changed. Return
to the shift details, review the refreshed related shifts, and try again.
