Workspace owners and admins can use the connector status on either invoice page
to restore Google Drive access without losing invoice history.
Before you start
- Sign in as a workspace Owner or Admin.
- Use the Google account that can access the invoice template and output folder.
- Keep existing invoice files and folders in place while reconnecting.
Update older Google permissions
If the connector says Update Google permissions, it still has an older
account-wide grant.
- Select Update Google permissions.
- Review how many connectors use the same Google authorization.
- Confirm the update. Google removes the older grant before starting the new
connection. - Complete Google consent for access limited to selected and app-created
files. - Select Choose template and choose the invoice template Doc.
- Select Choose output folder and choose the invoice root folder.
- Test the connection.
The connector is ready when it shows Ready. Existing invoice runs remain
available throughout the update.
Recover another connector state
- Reconnect required: Select Reconnect Google Drive, finish consent,
reselect the template and output folder when prompted, and test the
connection. - Choose files: The Google grant is valid, but ShiftDispatch cannot use one
or both selected resources. Choose the template and output folder again, then
test the connection. - Google temporarily unavailable: Do not reconnect or change resources.
Wait and use the connection test again. - Not connected: Select Connect Google Drive, finish consent, choose
both resources, and test the connection.
Check that it worked
The connector should show Ready, the connected Google account, and the last
successful check. Generate a test invoice only after the connection test
succeeds.
Troubleshooting
- Google does not show the expected template or folder: Confirm the signed-in
Google account can open it, then retry the matching Picker action. - The permission update was cancelled: Open Update Google permissions
and continue the recoverable migration. - Google could not remove the older permission: Retry later. Do not paste a
refresh token or manually edit the connector. - You are a workspace Member: Ask an Owner or Admin to update the connector.
